Wagon Tracks Intersecting the River

The Rivière des Grands Canoes history is interlaced with so many other epic stories and adventures, to be discovered again and again by future generations, if one takes the time to explore. The Santa Fe Trail, which originally began on the north bank of the River at Franklin (Missouri) and ran parallel to it up to Arrow Rock, and then crossed and continued to run parallel to it up to around Westport, before it turned to the SW and continued to Santa Fe (New Mexico) is yet another one of those stories. The Santa Fe Trail Association has a wealth of information about all aspects of the Trail, in their newsletter archives. One article of interest is a detailed account of finding the actual River crossing site near Arrow Rock in recent years.
An Interactive resource to research an index of the articles as well as find the archives can be found here.... https://drive.google.com/…/1vZkXlnLlzFvkhlrjjcj7Sha0w…/view…
